Summer is upon us! The rain may not be gone yet, but our spirits are still high. June is LGBTQ+ Pride month so there are lots of activities every weekend to celebrate LGBTQ+ identities, this weekend find some in The Hague. Get some laughs and yummy food while donating for good causes, get groovy on some roller skates, or explore some nature in a canoe this weekend.
Friday, June 7
Human Aid Now is hosting a Stand Up Comedy Show with a line-up of 7 international comedians at MixTree, Amsterdam. All ticket proceeds and donations will go towards helping refugees survive the unbearable conditions at camps in Greece and France. For example one ticket of 7,50€ can provide a mother with 75 diapers, compared to the allowance of 5 she gets per week from the camp in Samos, Greece. Saturday, June 8
If you missed last week’s Gay Pride events in Utrecht, head to The Hague Pride 2019 for its first ever Pride events. Various events will be taking place all around the city all weekend long so check out www.thehaguepride.com for more information and details! The main Royal Pride Parade will take place at 15:00 starting at Lange Vijverberg on Saturday.

Let loose on the roller rink at Rollerdisco in Paradiso, Amsterdam. The floor of Paradiso concert hall has been made into a skate rink for your enjoyment. Get in some funky, beginning-of-summer vibes with disco music and DJs. Tickets for 8€ here, open from 19:00-22:30.
Sunday, June 9
Join Nature Connects for a Canoe Adventure in Waterland and see the landscapes that inspired artists like Rembrandt van Rijn and Frans Hals. A guided tour of the area in a Canadian canoe is included in the 30€ ticket which you can secure a spot for here. Meeting time is 11 am at the Watergang Dorp bus station, about a 15 minute bus ride from Amsterdam Central. The day finishes at 15:30 with a break in the middle for lunch in an enchanting, historic village.
