Your NL weekend scene: June 7 – June 9

Summer is upon us! The rain may not be gone yet, but our spirits are still high. June is LGBTQ+ Pride month so there are lots of activities every weekend to celebrate LGBTQ+ identities, this weekend find some in The Hague. Get some laughs and yummy food while donating for good causes, get groovy on some roller skates, or explore some nature in a canoe this weekend.

Friday, June 7

Human Aid Now is hosting a Stand Up Comedy Show with a line-up of 7 international comedians at MixTree, Amsterdam. All ticket proceeds and donations will go towards helping refugees survive the unbearable conditions at camps in Greece and France. For example one ticket of 7,50€ can provide a mother with 75 diapers, compared to the allowance of 5 she gets per week from the camp in Samos, Greece. The show starts at 20:00 at Schipluidenlaan 12, Amsterdam and tickets can be bought here, find out more about Human Aid Now here

Saturday, June 8

Join Nature Connects for a Canoe Adventure in Waterland and see the landscapes that inspired artists like Rembrandt van Rijn and Frans Hals. Meeting time is 11 am at the Watergang Dorp bus station, about a 15 minute bus ride from Amsterdam Central. The day finishes at 15:30 with a break in the middle for lunch in an enchanting, historic village.
