This weekend the Netherlands is putting bountiful amounts of food and drink out for you to enjoy. From the Food Truck festival in Leiden, to the fresh beer festival in Haarlem, to the Pizza festival in Amsterdam, what will your choice be? Want to walk off some of the yummy food you try, head to one or more of the bunkers located all around the Netherlands and explore the hidden world of World War II from a perspective you’ve never seen.
Friday, 24 May
Rrrollend Leiden will be going all weekend long providing you with ample opportunities to enjoy this Spring weather. Food trucks, jazz bands, and DJs will keep you full and entertained. It is a family friendly event with free entry and will take place at Pieterskirkplein, Leiden. Vendors will be open 17:00-23:00 on Friday, 14:00-23:00 on Saturday and 12:00-21:00 on Sunday.
Saturday, 25 May
Hop over to Haarlem to get a taste of the freshest beer in the Netherlands. FreshFest still has some tickets available for its Saturday 10-14:30 session. You will be able to enjoy beer from 25 different breweries with 80% of the beer being packaged no more than 72 hours before. Bunkerdag 2019 is here! This is the one day each year where various of the World War II bunkers along the coast of the Netherlands are opened from 10:00-17:00 for the public to explore. Adult tickets are 6€, child (4-12) are 3€, and under 4 is free with all ticket sale proceeds going toward funding the various bunker heritage foundations and towards management and maintenance of the Atlantic Wall as a whole. Amsterdam Pizza Festival is happening in Rembrandtpark both Saturday and Sunday. You can sample all kinds of pizza from 9 different pizza shops as well as some wine, beer, coffee and ice cream. Not only can you munch on some zaaa you can also participate in a pizza workshop, silent disco, and enjoy a mini open air cinema and DJs. Tickets cost around 10€ can be purchased here.

Swap till You Drop! Clothes and book exchange by Paper Fetish Amsterdam and Dostoevsky Photography Society. They are against industrial waste and overproduction, so give your unloved things a new life, while also having the satisfaction of adding new things to your closets and shelves. Anything left behind at the end of the swap will be donated. Tickets are 7,50€ or 10€ including a coffee/tea or a coffee/tea AND a cake.
