This weekend, we have a list that takes you throughout the Netherlands, from Maastricht to Amsterdam. Start off with a queer photography exhibition in Amsterdam, then travel to Maastricht for a Ted event. Lastly, end your week at a rave in Utrecht. We have other interesting events, too. 

Friday, 22 March 

BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! exhibit will showcase at The Ravestijn Gallery this weekend only. The exhibit will feature work from 18 queer photographers. Previously, the exhibit first gained success at The H Club London. Now, Amsterdam will experience the progressive art. Event begins at 18. At The Ravestijn Gallery, Westerdok 824, Amsterdam.

The 1975 film adaptation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will screen at LAB111. The movie follows sweethearts Brad and Janet and their confrontation with a variety of interesting, spooky characters. At the screening, the hosts ask you to dress “like a dirty, little pervert.” Film begins at 21:30. At LAB111, Arie Biemondstraat 111, Amsterdam. Tickets for € 10.50 .

Watch thought provoking films at the Movies that Matter Festival. The festival, hosted by Filmhuis Den Haag, continues this weekend and aims to connect viewers with special filmmakers and human rights activist from all over the world. Screenings begin today at 19. At Filmhuis Den Haag, Spui 191, The Hague. Ticket prices vary.

Saturday, 23 March

La Bonbonnière will host TEDxYouth in Maastricht this year. The theme of this year’s conference is “The Emergence of the Periphery,” a topic that aims to draw attention to those in society who are left unnoticed. Young enthusiasts will lead the talks but everyone is welcome to attend the event. Talks begin at 12:30. At La Bonbonnière, 1 Achter de Comedie, Maastricht. Tickets start at €16.50.

If you’ve ever hoped to make a mark in the Netherlands, the self-build workshop hosted by ASSEMBLE may help you achieve this goal. The organisation’s project aims to transform the west wing of the US embassy. ASSEMBLE needs help to write the next chapter in the story of the building. Working begins at 13. Join a rave at Boiler Room Utrecht. This upcoming rave acts as a part of a month-long series of global raves. The rave will start with a broadcast and extend long after the cameras turn off. Party starts at 22:30. At WAS., Tractieweg 41, Utrecht. Tickets for €17.36.

Sunday, 24 March 

Art Battle Amsterdam will take this place Sunday. At the battle, artists will compete in three fast-paced painting rounds. After the rounds are completed, the audience will vote for the champion. All artwork created will be available for sale at a silent auction following the competition. Painting begins at 18:30. At Pllek, Tt. Neveritaweg 59, Amsterdam. Tickets for €15.

What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting. That’s the topic of conversation for this event that aims to address the challenges and possibilities of living without children. Three writers about childless life will share their ideas about what to expect when you expect not have children. Discussion begins at 19:30. At Boom Chicago, Rozengracht 117, Amsterdam.
