The Hague has dropped out of the “Host City competition” for Eurovision 2020

According to Nu.nl, after Leeuwarden, The Hague is the next city which will not participate on the race as Host City for Eurovision 2020. There are now seven still running to host next year Eurovision Song Contest.

The Hague has decided to drop out of the 2020 host the event because the city doesnt meet EBU’s requirements. The Hague now fully supports Rotterdam, which wants the song competition may take place at Rotterdam Ahoy.

But The Hague city government seems to be split on the matter: a councillor of Den Haag posted  a message on his official Twitter account showing full support for the city of Amsterdam. The city was hoping to host the event for the third time.

The other seven applicant cities must submit their bid books to the organizing body by the 10th of July 2019. The 2020 Eurovision Host City is expected to be revealed this August.

The 2020 Eurovision Song Contest will be shown by NOS, AVROTROS and NPO in cooperation with the EBU.
