According to the advisory body AWTI too many students fail at the first time at the Dutch Universities. The report, contains a number of recommendations and calls for stricter admission criteria for students. Chair of the research committee Uri Rosenthal said that it’s vital for young people to find a course suitable for them.
Since it’s not always true , drop-out rates are high. There is also a mismatch between the courses on offer and the labour market.
Student organizations declared that a stricter selection of bachelor students will make higher education less accessible and selection tests random.
