The fourteen edition of Cinedans – Dance on screen festival takes place since 9th to 12th of March 2016 at Amsterdam’s EYE Filmmuseum.
This edition, a bit shorter but exiting, with a special focus on Practice & Potential: The latest developments and methods in dancefilm. New technologies, alternative ways to collaborate and interactive presentation forms in the Netherlands and abroad.
Alongside an extensive film programme, the festival also includes lectures, debates and workshops delving into all aspects of film and dance.
On Friday 10 March Cinedans present a special student day, with dancefilms made as part of Cinedans LAB projects, and the presentation Cinedans Student Award.
Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March the festival presents the State of the art of Dutch dancefilm, premieres, feature films and docume ntaries.
Among others, this edition is screening The Ferryman by Director Gilles Delmas, with the voice of performer Marina Abramović. WOMB the new 3D film by Swiss choreographer Gilles Jobin and the Dutch premeiere of WIM, a personal chronicle about choreographer and filmmaker Wim Vandekeybus.

Cinedans is an international dance and movie festival featuring short and full-length dance films, documentaries and interactive installations. Cinedans is a unique event in the Netherlands and one of the biggest internationally in its genre.
