Amsterdam tops many lists, like the quality of life or safest city, but now the Dutch capital finds itself at the top of another one: most expensive street parking in the world.
As per Parkopedia and the Global Parking Index, a two-hour parking job in Amsterdam center will cost (depending on exchange rate) and average of $14.61, or €7.50 an hour. Amsterdam comes as 20% more expensive than the second-place city on the list, the notoriously expensive London. In comparison to in-demand neighborhoods in Paris, Amsterdam’s parking averages $5 more expensive.
The numbers reinforce a countrywide trend which sees the Netherlands as the most expensive country overall for street parking. It also ranks second (behind Hong Kong) for monthly garage parking rates.
