According to a press statement of Sea-Watch 3, this Thursday at 5PM at Spuistraat in Amsterdam, there will be a solidarity demonstration in support of Carola Rackete, captain of the Sea-Watch 3.
This demonstration has been called because neither the EU-Commission nor any European government brought any solution for the landing of the remaining 40 survivors on Sea-Watch 3. “Carola took the whole responsibility and brought the people to safety against all odds. She entered Italian waters without permission and landed in the port of Lampedusa. She stood up for the rights of the rescued people to be disembarked to a place of safety.”, the press release says.
The demands of Sea-Watch 3 and their supporters to the Dutch government are to call upon the Italian government to free Carola Rackete and to end criminalisation of those rescuing people at sea.
