During the early hours of Monday (August 12) morning, a house in the Mercatorplein area of Amsterdam was shot at marking the 5th violent incident in the Dutch capital in a matter of 3 days.
Though nobody was injured, bullets pierced the home’s wall. The shooting marked the fifth violent incident over the past weekend, which also saw a “violent incident” on Pedro de Medinalaan involving three men.
The weekend also saw a shooting that lead to injury on Dickenslaan (the second shooting in the neighborhood since Thursday, which lead to the death of a man shot on Hogevecht), shots fired om Willem Kromhoutstraat, and a hand grenade found outside a home on Snodenhoekpark. The Pedro de Medinalaan incident was the only one that lead to injuries with two taken to the hospital for treatment.
