“Afghanistan is not a safe country”, with this slogan a group of activists, associations of Afghans in the Netherlands and other activists  took to the streets on the occasion of the mobilization weekend for the rights of Afghan refugees in the Netherlands.

The march took place between Dam square and Krugerplein, on the Oost side of the City; among others, some asylum seekers from the “We Are Here” group also took part.

Despite the safety concerns for Afghanistan, the EU has signed a repatriation agreement in 2016 with the Country to deport 80 thousand Afghans.

On May the 30th, a petition, asking  the Dutch government not to deport Afghans asylum seekers, which so far has collected over 50thousands signatures, will be delivered to the Tweede Kamer.
